Eighty-one percent (81%) of U.S. voters agree with Israeli President Benjamin Netanhyahu that Palestinian leaders must recognize Israel’s right to exist as part of a Middle Eastern peace agreement. just seven percent (7%) disagree and say this should not be a requirement for a peace agreement. U.S. voters continue to be pessimistic about the chances for peace in the region. Seventy-four percent (74%) say it is unlikely there will be lasting peace between the Palestinians and Israel within the 10 years.
Forty-nine percent (49%) of Americans say that if Israel attacks Iran because of the latter’s continuing development of nuclear weapons, the United States should help Israel.
