A Tale of T
A Tale of Two F-Bombs: WaPo, MSNBC, CNN Bothered By Cheney in 2004, Not Biden Six Years Later

Biden isn't the first vice president to allow an expletive slip in a public forum in this day and age of a geared up media apparatus. Back in 2004, then-Vice President Dick Cheney let the F-bomb slip in remarks he made to Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., over political disagreement between the two.

However, the media, particularly The Washington Post, MSNBC and CNN, took Cheney's indiscretion seriously. But Biden's indiscretion - which was actually captured on national TV - wasn't seen as so serious.

The Media's Myth of Right Wing Violence

txt 1st 2010 msm -
There is a disturbing chill in the air according to the leftist media. Threats of violence and rumor of murder are taking center stage instead of [key] reporting legitimate public outrage about the passage of Obamacare.

You need not click far online to hear another person refer to Glenn Beck as "dangerous", yet they can never sight specifically why. Despite their rhetoric, the media refuses to follow up with what makes a man, who has spent hours just this year begging people to remain peaceful, so obscenely' dangerous'.

Glaringly obvious in this latest round of reports is that there are no specific examples of alleged threats of violence cited. I can only find one specific threat that caused the FBI to swoop in and ask a speaker to wear a bullet-proof vest on the tip that the speaker would be gunned down by an assassin. But that speaker was Glenn Beck.

Whether this is a shortcut to 2nd Amendment action, valid concern, or just a bunch of crybaby progressive politicians over reacting to criticism, it's hard to tell. But Obama's desire to continue ramming through the most divisive legislation --and gainst his own creed -- isn't helping bring calm to even the most peaceful conservatives. And while the evidence of a violent right is scarce, there's no limit to the major media attempting to make conservatives look evil.

Before letting the media continue to perpetuate its fabricated stereotype, let me give you the facts that MSM journalists refuse to cite:

  • It was not the fear of conservative violence that caused Ann Coulter's speech to be cancelled this week.
  • It was a liberal who bit the finger off a man who disagreed with him on healthcare.
  • It was Obama-loving Amy Bishop who took a gun to work and murdered co-workers.
  • Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building after writing an anti-conservative manifesto.
  • It was liberals who destroyed AM radio towers outside of Seattle.
  • It's liberals who burn down Hummer dealerships.
  • It was progressive SEIU union thugs who beat a black conservative man who spoke his mind.
  • It wasn't a conservative fired shots into a GOP campaign headquarters.
  • In fact, Democrats have no monopoly on having their offices vandalized.
  • Don't forget it was Obama's friend Bill Ayers who used terrorism as a tool for political change. SDS is still radical, with arrests in 2007 and the storming of the CATO Institute in July 2008.
  • It was a liberal who was sentenced to two years for bringing bombs and riot shields to the Republican National Convention in 2008.
  • It was a liberal who threatened to kill a government informant who infiltrated her Austin-based group that planned to bomb the RNC.
  • It was liberals who assaulted police in Berkeley.
  • It was liberals who intimidated and threw rocks through the windows of researchers.
  • The two Black Panthers who stood outside polls intimidating voters with nightsticks were not right-wingers.
  • Every time the G20 gets together, it's not conservatives who destroy property and cause chaos.

I could literally go on and on, but let's try to have some perspective here.

Violence is a product of the fringe, on either side, and it's sickening to try to use it for political advantage. Those who commit violence in the name of politics deserve political change no more than they deserve leniency in sentencing. Violence furthers no cause. The only call to action that violence has ever motivated Americans to is the retaliation on attackers. Somehow I think the liberals know that very well.

The media and politicians who are trying to construct a meme of conservative violence as we run up to the 2010 elections should only face the weapon they fear most; the ballot.

So, You Still Want to Close Gitmo?

Mohamedou Slahi is responsible for the murder of thousands of Americans. He was a core member of the 9/11 conspiracy — the recruiter of Mohamed Atta and the other ringleaders. If he’d had his druthers, even more Americans would have been killed: He is almost certainly the al-Qaeda middle manager who activated the Canadian cell that attempted to bomb Los Angeles International Airport. On the scale of war criminals, he edges toward the Khalid Sheikh Mohammed range, as bad as it gets.

25% Now Say China Is Biggest Threat to United States

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 25% of voters now rate China as a bigger threat to U.S. national security than five other key nations. That’s second only to Iran, which is viewed as the number one threat by 30%.

In a survey late last month, 50% of Americans said China was a long-term threat to the United States. Eighty-six percent (86%) expressed concern about the level of U.S. debt now owned by China, while 73% believe it is at least somewhat likely China will use this debt against the United States in some fashion within the next five years.

Nanny state will turn U.S. into Europe

[HT:LG]Subject: txt sclm lbrty -
Passage of a national health care bill begins fulfilling the fantasy of the left of making over America into something resembling its government dependent European cousins.

Throughout the health care battle, President Barack Obama asked, if European nations can deliver expansive universal health care to every citizen, why can't the United States do the same. The president, an ardent Europhile, poses that question about everything from high-speed rail to cheap college tuition.

The answer is that we can -- if we're willing to live a European lifestyle.

But most Americans will chafe at giving up their personal choices and elbow room to make Euro-socialism work here. The Nanny State is anathema to our natural individualism. But once government takes over the care and feeding of its citizens, nothing is beyond its reach.

France and Denmark, for example, claim veto power over baby names.

A people conditioned to view the government as the dominant force in their universe accepts any government intrusion. [Such as outlawing the lending of money to someone to attend college, if you can imagine such a thing.]

They also accept less of everything.

Local Journalism Centers: Government's Backdoor to the Newspaper Business

Subject: txt lbrty bbro sclm - msm -
A March 25 article in the New York Times by Elizabeth Jensen announced the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is setting up seven regional reporting projects, called Local Journalism Centers. Each center will hire editors and reporters to work on local issues using federal funds from public broadcasting. The Centers represent the government’s first, small steps into the journalism business.

A recent Business and Media Institute study examined how many liberal journalists and politicians have been advocating for a federal bailout for the struggling newspaper industry. The report pointed out that government involvement is wrong and is clearly in violation of the 1st amendment, since government aid equals government control...
