Iran to pursue uranium enrichment

Tehran - Iran today said it will go on with its uranium enrichment activities despite a fifth UN Security Council resolution calling for a freeze to the sensitive nuclear work.

'' Enrichment is our right and we believe that suspension is an illegal request. We will continue on our path in a normal way,''

The United States and its European allies had pushed for tougher sanctions but ran into resistance from Russia and China.
