Free-market principles, limited government and individual liberty.

In Florida, Marco Rubio has the tea winds at his back for the U.S. Senate nomination, which forced Gov. Charlie Crist to declare himself an independent.

It is certainly not objectionable that Americans reshuffle the deck now and then.

Ignited by the recent passage of Arizona's immigration law, fueled by many Democratic politicians, left wing, communist and socialist groups, and spurred on by the liberal media, these marchers took aim at us tax paying American Citizens.

They chanted "racist go home" as they advanced to the barricades that the police placed there to protect us from harm. We were forty and they were two thousand.

Joined by many radical left Americans (what else would you expect to find in San Francisco these days), it was obvious to us that they had "pre-judged" us as racist, neo-Nazis , white supremacist and anti immigrant, just because we want the United States borders secured and illegal immigration stopped.

We stayed two and half hours, enduring there shouts, slurs, middle finger gestures and dirty looks, in a country that is ours, and in a state that we pay taxes to. All so many of these people can eat, get an education, get medical care, and pay rent - on our dime. And San Francisco welcomes illegal aliens with open arms, having declared itself a "Sanctuary City" for these foreign nationals in 1989.

The Police escorted us to the parking lot, or surely this crowd of "harmless people", "here just to make a living and feed their families", surely would have attacked us.

Only in America could non citizens be placed ahead of Citizens who were born here, lead good honest lives, and pay taxes to keep America safe and secure.

I'm disgusted at what the United States of America has become over the past 30 years.

Father featured on TV show kills one of three who tried to invade his home

An alleged female decoy for a pair of heavily armed home-invasion robbers was shot dead early Saturday morning outside the West Hamblen County home of a family featured on a television reality show, authorities say. Five Live Oak High School students' First Amendment rights were challenged Wednesday morning when they were asked to leave school because they donned American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo.

Officials at the school chose not to comment on the situation. [!?!]

The Morgan Hill Unified School District issued this statement: "In an attempt to foster a spirit of cultural awareness and maintain a safe and supportive school environment, the Live Oak High School administration took certain actions earlier today.

The boys were told they must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home. The boys told Rodriguez and Boden that turning their T-shirts inside-out was disrespectful, so their parents opted to take them home.

"I just couldn't believe it," said Dominic's mother Julie Fagerstrom. "It's sad it's come to this,"

A front-desk secretary said Boden was unavailable for any comment on what had happened Wednesday and Rodriguez was busy with testing, the secretary said.

More than 100 students were spotted wearing red, white and green as they were leaving school. Some had the Mexican flag painted on their faces or on their arms.

Live Oak High School even hosted a group of professional baile folklorico dancers, who waved flags and played traditional music from Mexico.

While much of California (especially the Bay Area) think differently than the rest of the country, last time I checked, it was still one of the 50 states. And suggesting that Mexican-Americans, might be insulted by seeing an American flag is suggesting that they are somehow less American than the rest of us.

THAT suggestion is insulting and racist.

But the vice principal's actions were mimicked by the Mexican-American students [of course; adults set examples for children] in the School, many of whom said that they were offended that the five students would wear American colors on a Mexican holiday.

This politically correct nonsense has gone way too far. Whats next? Jews have to take of their Jewish Stars on Ash Wednesday? or Christians banned from wearing Crucifixes during Chanukah? Maybe schools will legislate that we're not to wear anything other than Italian flags on Columbus day or Green on St. Patrick's day.

This is The United States of America, we need to teach [perhaps at school?] our children to be proud of their country, no matter the ethnicity. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Mexican-American wearing Mexican flags on Cinco de Mayo or any other day to show pride in their heritage. But at the same time there should never be anything wrong with Americans showing pride in their country.

Those are the words of the mother of Matt Dariano, one of the five kids at Live Oak High School in the San Francisco Bay Area who were sent home for having the temerity to wear American flag tee shirts on the "Mexican heritage day" of Cinco de Mayo.

"There will not be an apology. Matthew is part Hispanic, OK? He's an American. So, no, there will be no apology from any Dariano."

Guess who else uttered the exact same phrase last year? James Crowley, the white Cambridge cop who arrested black Harvard professor Louis Gates, Jr. and was singled out in a nationally televised press conference by President Obama for "acting stupidly."

On July 23 of last year outside his home, a reporter told Crowley that Gates had asked for an apology from him for his handling of the incident.

"There will be no apology," Crowley replied.
After a beat, the reporter followed up: "Is this now and ever, 'no apology,?"
"Yes," Crowley replied flatly.

The fact is, Americans are increasingly fed up with the racially divisive, politically correct insanity pulsating through the country today.

After years of being pressured and browbeaten by the left-wing PC police about what they can say, do, think, and wear, many Americans have had enough. And they're especially furious with being asked to apologize for things that aren't or shouldn't be in the least bit offensive.

The idea that high school kids anywhere in America would be called the principal's office - let alone that they would be asked whether they should apologize - for wearing clothes bearing the image of the United States flag, is a perfect case in point.

It's the kind of insanity that rankles the sensibilities of millions upon millions of Americans, and has them cheering when someone - whether a Cambridge cop or a Bay Area mother - stands up, refuses to back down, and says, "there will be no apology."

When political scientists compare populism and elitism, they could certainly find a test case in the new Arizona law on immigration enforcement. While Rasmussen found 70 percent of Arizonans favored the crackdown on illegal aliens, and new national media polls found majority support as well, ABC, CBS, and NBC denounced the popular will as short-sighted and discriminatory.

From April 23 to May 3, the top three television networks offered viewers 50 stories and interview segments on their morning and evening news programs. The tone was strongly hostile to the law and promotional to the "growing storm" of left-wing protesters: 37 stories (or 74 percent) were negative, 10 were neutral, and only three were positive toward the Arizona law's passage -- 12 negative stories for every one that leaned positive.

Stories were much kinder and sympathetic to illegal aliens than they were to police officers. Cops were potential abusers of power. Entering the country illegally was not an abuse of power. It was portrayed as an honorable step by the powerless.

The soundbite count was also slanted, with 92 quotes against the law and only 52 in favor. The pro-law numbers, however, included many soundbites of Arizona public officials defending themselves against liberal charges that they were racists or in favor of racial profiling...

Botched bomber Faisal Shahzad's failure to achieve the “American dream” may have been an important motive for his terrorist act, CBS's Bob Orr contended Wednesday night in a story in which he declared:

“Shahzad's motive also remains unclear."

How about the hypothesis Shahzad became a U.S. citizen as a ruse to make it easier to carry out his Islamic jihad – and so quitting his job, moving his family to Pakistan and not paying his mortgage were not what drove him to terrorism, but were what he did to get training and rid himself of encumbrances?

Nah, that can't be it.

The briefing room's main TV's are tuned to the top-rated cable news channel.

Trouble is, that's the dreaded Fox News Channel that Obama aides including David Axelrod so weirdly picked a fight with last fall... [snip]

And those ratings ultimately showed that something on the order of a third of that network's viewers are, like Atty. Gen. Holder, Democrats who clearly want fair and balanced news.

Now, that's bipartisanship to believe in.
